Division 1 Round Up – Matchday 4
Amended…

A strange set of results this round as form it seems went out the window.

Spartak Moscow 2-0 Gloucester United

Gloucester lead the pack going into matchday 4. But were made to pay for missed chances by a strong Spartak Moscow team. In a tempestous match that saw 5 bookings, it was Gloucester who had the early opportunities but were guilty of spurning two glorious chances. Spartak looked the more purposeful after the break and it didn’t take long for them open the scoring, Nemanja Vidic was put under pressure and played the ball into his own net (48). Both teams continued to play good football but it was Spartak who had the better possesion and in the 74th minute made it count. Radoslav Kovac heading home to double the lead. Spartak held out for the remander of the match to take the points. A good match between two teams that will be fighting it out at the top.

Mank Mashers LFC 1-0 Regatas Fc

With Gloucester losing Mashers had the opportunity to go back to the summit of Division 1. They took that opportunity with a win against Regatas Fc. They made hard work of the victory and the score should have perhaps been better for Mashers who missed numerous chances having dominated posession. The only goal of the game came from the head of Gene de Baptiste after a delicious cross from Steven Gerrard. The result was enough to send Mashers back to the top of the table and means Regatas sit just outside the relegation places.

Ashandarei 2-3 JC Super 11

JC Super 11 twice came from behind to mark a memorable victory against Ashandarei. The home side started the better and played some good football in the first half, they were rewarded in the 36th minute when they were awrded a penalty which Carl Hisock duly converted. Ashandarei looked comfortable at half time going in one up. After the break JC came out looking like a different team. They equalised in the 56th minute after Julien Dixon released Luiz Baptista who rounded the keeper to score. Ashandarei reclaimed the lead in the 69th Clifford Hooke latched onto Danilo Durans through ball and slotted past the keeper. The goal didn’t deter JC who were determined to take something from the match and just 4 minutes lates Baptista grabbed his second of the day smashing the ball into the net (73). JC completed their comeback in the 79th minute, Baptista completing his hat-trick with a bullet header.
Ashandarei will wonder whats going on the team is capable of better performences and will need to show it quickly they have amased just 3 points from 4 matches. JC seem to have got their season underway and move out of the relegation places for the first time this season.

Liverpool FC 2-1 Blazing Gunz

The second big shock of the day came at Anfield as Liverpool took their first 3 points of the season over Blazing Gunz. Liverpool slightly edged a cagey first half, but were guilty of missing chances. Both teams came out looking to win but it was Liverpool who struck first, Tyrone Garratt planting a header past Jens Lehman after 54 minutes. They doubled the lead just 2 minutes later through Derrick Ramsden after he was set free of the Gunz defence by Roger Cowan
A great result for the red men who finally get their season underway. Blazing Gunz will hope this is a minor setback.

jammie dodgers 2-1 clarkson united

In the battle of the ‘lower casers’ dodgers made it 2 wins in a row with a hard fought victory over clarkson united. united opened the scoring with their usual early goal. dodgers Harvey Smith putting the ball through his own net. dodgers pressed hard for an equaliser and were rewarded in the 43rd minute when Arthur Gotte steered home Kevin Vaughns pass. It was just as even after the break and the game could have gone either way but in the 86th minute came the incident that changed the game. Jezza de King Clarkson went in hard on Xabat Pinillos and caught the player late, resulting in a sending off. dodgers piled on the pressure with the extra man and in the 4th minute of injury time they got the winner, roles reversed for this one as Arthur Gotte turned provider for Kevin Vaughn to head home.
dodgers rocket up the table after their second sucessive win. Like last season clarkson united are struggling for any kind of consistency.

Dinkys Team of the Round – Liverpool FC, a first win against a tough Gunz side.
Dinkys Player of the Round – Luiz Baptista, a fine hat-trick to give his team the win.

Good luck for next round!!!!

Championship Match Reports – Game 4

Filed under: Championship Reports by: bghammer

Written by Dodgie AKA Sir Trevor McDoughnut

The Championship
Toronto FC – Cambridge Utd 0 – 1 (0 – 0)
Toronto put out a weakened side tonight and the result showed as it was Cambridge that looked the part and just managed to score in injury time to take the points. They had 8 chances but squandered them as by right they should have scored more.
A win is a win and vital 3 points for the away side even if they played well.
Toronto still on 3 points, while Cambridge move up wth 9 points.

Pompey – Neo Bandung 2 – 3 (0 – 2)
Pompey’s manager actually listened to the media as M. G. DODGIE started the game and ended up scoring 2 great goals…the trouble is, they let in 3 oops!
A good away win for Neo but to let in 2 goals must be a concern for their young manager…Pompey rooted to the bottom, while Neo sit top of the pile.

Manchester United – West Bromwich Albion 0 – 0 (0 – 0)
With football being the furthest from both managers minds, both sets of players decided to play a game of cards with Robbie and Dinks. the ‘card’ game started and it was the home side who took the lead with a straight flush and a full house.
Back came W.B.A. with 3 of a kind and 2 pairs..then they had a fag break and a slash and returned 15 minutes later.
The Manc’s took the lead with an Ace flush and in the next hand West Brom hit them with a Royal flush…time was running out so the Manc’s played their 3 Aces to win the next hand but just when time was called at the bar West Brom won the last hand with another full house making it 4 all.
AS fr the football, the game ended a boring nil – nil.

Commons Crusaders – KOP KINGS 2 – 0 (2 – 0)
Walco put the carayons away and made a decnt effort this week as they were playing the Kop Kings at home. The game turned out quite even but the decisive thing was the Commoners scored 2 great goals and a good win under their belts takes them right up to 5th. The Kop Kings sit in 10th, still on 1 point.

The Posh – Toronto Zamalek KM 2 – 0 (1 – 0)
The Posh are on fire at the moment as they played a strong team in Toronto Z. and both sides entertained the crowd as there were chances galore but it was the clinical finnishing from the home side that earned all the points.
The Posh up to 2nd, while Zamalek drop to 4th.

Team of the Day….Cambridge.. for stealing all 3 points away.

Your Reporter….Sir Trevor McDoughnut.

The Div 2 report for round 4:

F.C Inter Milano v Red Devils 0-0 (0-0)
This clash of the highest two rated teams in the league was predictably tight and it was certainly one where the defence dominated. The attacking play all came from the home side, as they created the only 3 chances of the game. Red Devils, whilst not ambitious going forward were solid at the back and none more so than Stanko Jovic in goal – although he was pipped to the overall man of the match by Inter defender and captain Lester Rodgers who was immense throughout.
It was a sign of the quality on show that 9 of the 11 X11 players of the week came from these two sides.

Sutton FC 3 v Motivated Mustard FC 3-0 (1-0)
Sutton took advantage of the draw in the top game to replace Motivated Mustard at the top, as they condemned them to their first defeat of the season. Things started well for Sutton with a goal after just 6 minutes – a Rhys Stockley header – and that’s how it stayed until half time. Mid way through the second period, man of the match Burt Barnett fired home from within the area and, after Sakari Heinanen had been sent off for Mustard late-on, Barnett grabbed his second of the game in the final minute for a fine win.

Stratford Titans FC v The Prophets 2-0 (0-0)
Stratford kept well in touch with the leading pack as they eased to a comfortable victory over the win-less Prophets. The game started badly for the Titans as they saw Odysseus Smith carried off, closely followed by Othello Ronaldinho limping off. Capstone reorganised his side at half time and they came out much stronger in the second 45. They grabbed the vital lead on 62 minutes when young Napoleon Cantona got his first goal of the season from range. Deep into injury time, a goal mouth scramble saw a Titans shot deflect off the unfortunate Arnold Keeler, for the OG and a 2-0 scoreline.

Notts County v Inter Ajax FC 3-0 (2-0)
County finally sparked into life and showed some attacking flair, whilst Inter Ajax are still without a goal in 4 games and look like being the division’s whipping boys. Midfielder Albert Iremonger scored his first 2 goals in a County shirt in the first half – a breakaway after 11 mins and a header on 26. That knocked the stuffing out of Inter Ajax and the game ended badly for them as well as County grabbed a 3rd after 93 minutes (Ben Fairclough) before Ajax defender Mikel Luci was needlessly red carded 5 minutes into injury time.

Bristol City FC v Eastcoasthoops 0-0 (0-0)
Could this game have been any more dull? Only four chances in the whole game and a distinct lack of incident. It says a lot when a yellow card after 22 minutes was the only highlight!
If I had paid money to watch this, I think I would ask for a refund.

Team of the Round:
GK – Stanko Jovic – Red Devils
DF – Marco Casalini – Red Devils
DF – Andy Gooden – Red Devils
DF – Damon Emerson – FC Inter Milano (on debut)
DF – Lester Rodgers (Capt) – FC Inter Milano
MF – Lawrence McGargle – FC Inter Milano
MF – Linford Monk – FC Inter Milano
MF – Burt Barnett – Sutton FC 3
MF – Erland Bragstad – FC Inter Milano
FW – Benedito Murias – Red Devils
FW – Mark Johnson – Sutton FC 3

Manager of the Round:
Lionsrock131 – Red Devils. A strong defensive showing to grab an away point.

Transfer News:
No money moves in since last time. Of the junior promotions, the one that caught the eye was 20 year old midfielder Timmy Lancaster at Notts County. Highly rated in the academy for his intelligent play.

I will do a round 5 preview before Friday’s games.

Keep the Faith,
Denga

Division 3 Report part 1
Benfica V FC Lisker – A determined Befica started this game fired up and you would have been mistaken if you thought it was Befica who was top of the league as they dominated possesion and got the only goal of the half. The second half started badly for Benfica when Lisker where awarded a penalty which Flood stepped up to take and Searle saved it with ease. Benfica supporters really thought this was going to be their day and started cheering as if they had already won the game. Lisker picked up the ball from Searles kick and Teaca raced away and scored the equaliser.
From that point is was one way traffic with Lisker piling on the pressure and finally in the 84th minute van Persie headed home the winner for Lisker.
FT 1-2 – A better performance from Benfica and they will take heart from that, Lisker will be happy with an away win and 3 more points in the bag.

The Fockers vs Aberdeen FC – The pointless Fockers went into this game with 3 straight defeats in a row and after Aberdeens exploits last week it did not look good for the Fockers.
The Fockers had the perfect start with a goal in the 13th minute but even though they started well, they were still being dominated on the pitch and Aberdeen hit back later in the half to make it 1-1 at half time.
The second half was very tight with neither side daring to go for the win, Aberdeen did their best to lose by giving away a string of late free kicks, however The Fockers could not capitalise.
FT 1-1 The Fockers will be happy to get points on the board, although they will be dissapointed not to have snuck it at the death. Aberdeen would have taken 4 points on the road before friday.

Carnaby Ln Mafia vs Grace Town – Carnaby went into this game with fresh legs after a break last week and it showed during the second half. The first half was like a scene from Rollerball with Grace town showing very little grace. 3 deserved yellow cards for Grace town and a nasty injury for Carnaby’s Rowan Horner were the highlights of the half.
The second half started like the first finished with the referee doing a good impression of a casion card dealer quickly handing out the 4th and 5th yellow of the game. Carnaby then got the goal their possesion deserved in the 74th minute When R Attenborough turned on a sixpence to fire the ball home. Another card then another goal for Carnaby this time Kittilsen heading home to make it 2-0
We then got the inevetiable red card for Shorrock of Grace town that was the 7th yellow of the game although with 87 minutes gone it didn’t seem like it would have much effect on the result. However Carnaby are not a team to let others off lightly and fired in 2 more goals before the end to add to Grace Towns misery.
FT 4-0 – Carnaby will be happy to get back playing and to win so convincingly is always good. Grace town need to sort out their agression before their next game or they will end up with a lot of players suspended this year.

Southampton FC vs Vitesse Sheffield – With both teams specialists in drawing i was not looking forward to sitting through this game. The first thing i noticed was the home team playing a defensive formation whilst the away team went attacking, so maybe it wasn;t going to be so bad.
Southampton where happy to let Sheffield attack them and hit them ont he counter and it worked for then in the 29th minute when Baddeley nodded in a wonderful cross to send the home support into raptures.
The second half started much like the first with Southampton countering really well and when Hamnvik got their second it looked like they would break their duck and get a win. Sheffield had other ideas though and decided to go for it with 20 mintues to go Hirst got 1 back and it was squeaky bum time for the Southampton supporters.
When Clarke got Sheffields 2nd it seemed destined for a draw until Sheridan looped a header over the keeper to claim a remarkable win and an excellent comeback
FT 2-3 – Southampton will be furious at letting a 2 goal lead slip in just 20 mintues, Sheffield will be over the moon after the comeback and full of confidence for the task of trying to beat Carnaby on friday.

Herd Instinct Vs Stevenage Borough – Stevenage had a point to prove after last weeks slump at home and the Herd are still failing to impress their fans after a average start in a season which promised so much. The first half consisted of 1 free kick for The Herd which was wasted.
The second half you could tell the teams were tiring as we actually saw some goalmouth action, nothing spectacular but the ball got into penalty at least. The only person who enjoyed todays game was the groundsman who will have to do very little to keep the pitch in pristine condition.
FT 0-0 – Not much to say here both teams will be dissapointed with how they played although Stevenage will be happy to get a point on the road and their first point after moving stadiums and changing names.

So another round out of the way and Lisker are still leading the way, Sheffield are in 2nd but Carnaby are eyeing that position up when they meet Sheffield on friday. At the bottom the Fockers finally got a point and moved above pointless Benfica.
Team of the round – Vittesse Sheffield for a remarkable comeback.
Manager of the Round – Vittesseowl for the comeback and an away win in a game that had draw written all over it.

Premiership Match Reports Gameday 3

Super Premiership Report!
With 2 games played, all 3 promoted teams hadn’t won any points and the top 3 from last season had all got off to excellent starts. Now, 3 games have been played. Some things have changed. Some remain exactly the same…

Weatherfield Rovers 1-0 Adbys Giants
Weatherfield remained in their position as pace setters this season as they maintained their 100% record. But, it was a nervy win against an impressive Adbys Giants team who created just as much chances as their opponents. It wasn’t the most exciting match of all time and Darryl Morton’s goal was probably the only highlight of a game which saw two goalkeepers excel for their teams.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Steve McDonald

Sheffield FC 1-1 Gusset United
An even game between two very even teams ended in an unsuprising draw. Sheffield FC dominated the possession, whilst Gusset United had control of the chances but, neither team really did enough to win. It did look like Sheffield FC were going to steal the victory as they were 1-0 up (after a debatable 50th minute penalty) going into the 90th minute but, Gusset United finally converted one of their 6 chances in the 91st minute to get the point. A special mention should go to Dexter Norcott who spent a large part of this game in goal despite being a midfielder. He kept a clean sheet too!
MAN OF THE MATCH: Dexter Norcott!

Dynamic Kebabies 2-5 mystical pies
WE FINALLY SCORED!!! But, it wasn’t enough as the Kebabies also conceded 5 goals to notch up another loss and remain bottom of the league. Mystical Pies’s finishing was clinical with 5 goals from 6 attempts and a lot of credit for the win must go to Poobaa who secured manager of the week with a fantastic tactical performance. mystical pies have now played two and won two, whilst the Kebabies will be looking for their first point as they play fellow strugglers and newbies, Celtic FC on Monday.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Gigi Brezoi

LeighPark Superstars 4-0 ferrobico
LeighPark Superstars knocked up a fantastic win as they scored four goals to beat ferrobico and throw DODGIE STYLE into the bottom 3. Whilst possession was even, LeighPark dominated the chances and turned their domination into goals, with the game being over at half time when they went in 3-0 up. ferrobico will probably be happy to hear they now face a break to recover ahead of their next game against Sheffield FC.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Sergio Correia

DODGIE STYLE 3-3 Hibees Bounce II
DODGIE STYLE got the first point of the three promoted teams but it wasn’t enough to see them keep away from the relegation zone after a cracking game in Dog Shit Alley. The game itself was full of drama with two big injuries (Matthew Monk for DODGIE STYLE out till June and Damien Biggins also getting injured for Hibees Bounce II), six goals and a hugely entertaining finish. When DODGIE STYLE were 3-1 up going into the last 5 minutes, they probably thought the game was over but, goals in the 88th and 95th minute saw Hibees Bounce II grab a point.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Cletus Spiller.

So, that’s the Premiership Report this week. I’ve got a bit of time left so I thought I’d give my predictions ahead of next week’s games. I’m sure you’ll agree with all of them:

Next Round Predictions:

LeighPark Superstars 1-1 Sheffield FC
Celtic FC 0-2 Dynamic Kebabies
Gusset United 1-3 Weatherfield Rovers
mystical pies 2-0 DODGIE STYLE
Hibees Bounce II 2-1 Adbys Giants

I’ll see you on Tuesday.
